This year marks the 225th anniversary of the Royal Library of the Netherlands, also known as the National Library of the Netherlands. Founded in 1798 as the library of the National Assembly, the institution has grown into an important knowledge center with a collection of over 13 million books, journals, newspapers, and other publications.
Animation video
On the occasion of the anniversary, we have created an animation about the history of the library and its role as the national library of the Netherlands, using the KB brand identity. The video addresses the challenges that the KB faces in the 21st century, such as digitization and the preservation of physical heritage. As the national library, the KB plays an important role in collecting, preserving, and providing access to knowledge and information for society. The publication will emphasize the importance of this role and the value of the KB as cultural heritage for the future.
